The Lies Must Stop! Ending Homelessness in Boise.

Well!

What a very heart rending way to the end the week. Now that the “alley” (Cooper Court) has been cleared (“evacuated”) and the political dust settled (with plenty of manufacturing of the “truth” by the local media), perhaps we start getting down to the business about homelessness and how NOT to handle it, shall we?!?

The usual snippets and bylines by the media on how the city was so very patient and “loving” about their uprooting some of the homeless who were already vulnerable and exploited for the benefit of the select few (the city’s image, and the profits of the favor non-profit organizations), perhaps we may find that all is not going to end up so rosy for the affected after all. After all, they are just homeless people living in the streets, right?!? After all, they have no ambitions, no dreams, no goals, no expectations for themselves, do they?!? After all, this community would really be better without their presence, did I get THAT right?!? After all, these homeless (and many more who are practically invisible to most of the general public) are all on the streets by their own choices, did I read THAT right?!?

Perhaps,

Homelessness is to be blamed on the homeless themselves?!? Isn’t it soooo easy to blame those who have very little left in life for their own predicament? Isn’t just grand that we can all go to bed with a clear conscience at night, and not ever have to worry that maybe we supported and CONDONED the outrageous violations of their equal considerations of their human rights? So, we do not have to feel guilty about violating the very basic human rights of these people, all because they are homeless and have virtually no real advocacy or representation (other than from the usual self-serving “glory-seekers” and “media-hogs”)? Perhaps much of society that has not been bitten by the dark side of our country’s economic policies and machinations believe it will never happen to them?!? Perhaps, all those cushy office jobs and various other levels of “gainful employment” will withstand being out-sourced, or altogether deemed “redundant”? – Only time will tell, because they have not listened (and refused to listen) to any of us who DID try to tell them.

These are people, made of flesh and blood, and possess feelings, dreams, goals, expectations, and with some who are just as capable of doing great things and having a beautiful life – if simply given a genuine chance (and perhaps some positive encouragement). Yet, the City of Boise, Idaho – AND – its complicit partners-in-crime (the various favored 501(c)(3) “aid organizations”) will continue to exploit and profit from the living tragedy of the homeless, while the homeless are expected to remain quiet (and for the most part – unseen)! The complicit “media” has done a hell of a job in playing to the tune of “good government, bad (street) people” with their slanted and skewed presentation of the plight of the homeless. (This, to my humble understanding, is commonplace throughout the United States!)

Anyone who has genuinely experienced a period (or more) of homelessness would already know what it is like to live at the very bottom tier of society. Yet, it is those who have NO PERSONAL FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE with being homeless that are making all the judgment calls and social policy in dealing with the very homeless themselves! This to include several of the non-profits who SAY they are “for the homeless”, yet sabotage all efforts of the homeless to right themselves – outside of the political sphere of influence – and its “hand-outs”. WHERE are all the godly “churches”, “temples”, and others who profess such faiths and claim to love “all men (and women)”, regardless of their particular station in life? ? ? Where are the true voices of the homeless? ? ? Where are those who truly love ALL PEOPLE, when the homeless citizens need their help most? ? ?

What the City of Boise (Idaho) has done is yet another egregeous act against human rights and violated various human-rights treaties, once again!

BTW: Please beware of giving anything substantive to the BOISE RESCUE MISSION MINISTRIES: Very little of it goes to the homeless, and more of it goes to more profit-making for themselves!

Set Goals Not Resolutions!

Nice post!!!

This looks similar to a project I did with a meditation group years ago. Plus, I really like the idea of goal-setting rather than “resolutions” (although, some may question whether there really is a substantive difference between the two).

Goals can be, and often are, constantly evolving and growing. Some resolutions have the habit of being too finite and limiting in their projected aims.

Thank you for sharing this. >;~))====

Coven Life®

It is getting to be that time of year again when people decide to set resolutions for themselves.  Instead…try something different!  Set Goals for yourself!  My friend Marietta over at Witchy Words (you can click this link to go to her blog http://www.witchywords.com/ ) wrote a blog post last year about setting goals.  I really liked the way she did it because she used a Pentacle to bring in the 5 elements as well as aspects of her life that are important to her.  Here is a photo (used with her permission) of her goals she set for herself using a pentacle.  I have also included a blank version you can print out to use for yourself. (My name is written in the middle but you can mark it out and put your own name in!) I enjoy using this form because it makes me really think about what is…

The Dance of Jupiter and Venus.

As Venus and Jupiter dance the Night Sky,
As Mars watches jealously from His hidden corner,
For it was as His first love, Venus, that Mars made His claim.

Dastardly, as Jupiter steps in, and confounds and controls the arrangement,
That Mars grows jealous evermore.
But that BOTH Mars and Jupiter fail to grasp: Venus be forever a Virgin, and of own-kept mind!

The impossible pairing of any with Dear Venus, result being none after.

Lest, the foolhardy dances with Venus,
With prospective Heart, and hopeful intentions,
Be all for naught!

Venus struts off, all her virginity left intact,
For some other anxious Soul to ply His tricks,
And fail to win Her hand thereafter.

Why “Naturalistic Pagan”?

Mind I repost (re-blog) this on mine?

You made some very salient, sensible points in this write-up, and I find very little reason to disagree with it.

Though my spirituality is quite different from those of most folks, I hold much of the Shamanic Wisdoms about our existence as true and valid. There is very little about atheism and humanism that I can agree with. Most of all, the entirety of the Creation is than just about “us”. It is all about everything, living and not-so-recognized-as-living that exists with us.

So thank you for this!

Nature is Sacred

As you know, there has recently been a kerfuffle in the blogging sphere between Naturalistic/ Humanistic Pagans and Hard Polytheist Pagans. Now I follow many bloggers both Naturalistic Pagan and Polytheist Pagan, and a Heathen blogger has recently written a blog addressed to John Halstead (and any other Naturalistic Pagans) asking why we identify as Pagans, rather than just atheists/ humanists e.t.c. This is a very valid question and so I’d like to respond with my own story and thoughts..

Why am I a Naturalistic Pagan?

Let’s start off with why I don’t call myself an atheist. I was most definitely an atheist for a while after I left fundamentalist Christianity. In the immediate aftermath of the death of a friend and the searching it led me to engage in, I was first a liberal Christian and then very soon became atheist thanks to watching many Youtube videos and reading…

A Soul’s Journey: My Interpretation of the Development of Soul.

A figured this would be a good time to write about what I have learned,

Through personal experiences, the journey of the Soul, from one Life to the next.

My particular beliefs about the Soul, Spirit, and all the other possible “bodies”, physical and non-physical, differ greatly from most of today’s known (and a few not-so-known) spiritual “systems”: I view the “spirit” and the “soul” as two different aspects that coexist from beginning to end.

One, the Spirit, is what we start off with, as human beings start off life as an infant –

With only a minimal vestige or “budding” of personality traits, characteristics, or whatever means to describe them. Everything has Spirit as its inner-dimensional existence. All Spirit(s) have a particular vibration that resonates within and without the known (and again, not-so-known) Cosmos (by “cosmos”, I mean far greater an expression than simply “universe” – IE: “everything”). The Spirit is the starting point or “template” in which to build upon the various experiences and knowledge attained through the steps (or “lives”) one travels.

The Soul, is that which becomes the uniqueness and “personality” (for lack of a better descriptor) worn by the particular Spirit.

The Soul becomes the vast accumulation of experiences, feelings, knowledge, and general other individualistic characteristics that identify this Spirit as an individual reflection of what we may think of as “God”. Just as each star, sun, grain of sand on a beach, can be as unique to one another – so can the various “reflections of God” we call “Soul”. The Spirit accumulates this make up of a “personality” as in “building a Soul”. The Soul is the individualized aspect of that singular piece of Spirit. The Soul becomes, as its own unique Cosmic Vibration.

Now,

I can hear the various chorus calls of how I am “wrong” and there is “no degree of separation” of Spirit. This is the usual “establishment-oriented” religious dogma that plagues humanity with this “there is no such thing as individuality” mode. Well, I say they are not truly exploring that realm of individuality to experience it for themselves. Most of them will never venture into that “unknown territory”, because they are constantly gerded against such thoughts by their dogmatic teachers! Yes, we are all from the same origin, but like the proverbial “child”, we eventually must mature, and begin the journey towards individualizing and exploring the realms of the Spiritual unknown, IE: Individuality. The child eventually leaves “home” when it grows up and matures, to start a new life of its own – and start a new family. That newly-“emancipated” adult becomes responsible for its own actions, reaction from those actions, and recreating new realities.

The idea of “reincarnation” and “schooling through multiple lives”.

One late night radio program had a very interesting guest on it.

Though I have long forgotten his name, he said a very catchy and startling phrase that rang loudly within me: “Schoolhouse Earth“! It made a lot of sense to me in that “life” is all about learning. One of the greatest teachers one has (and, I am pretty sure that every “living thing” has this as a teacher) in Life is experience. Experience, each and every instance, event, and reaction, has a lot to teach us about our travels in “life”. No other teaching or education “system” can compare, let alone parallel what experience can teach us, and to such great depths of knowledge. Experience is they only teacher of a thing called: “Wisdom”. No other teacher can “give” wisdom. Only the individual learning through hard-earned experience. Other teachers can give tools, methods, and basic examples, but experience is gained by actually learning to use them well (That’s Wisdom).

Anyway,

Those who acknowledge reincarnation as part of “life” and pure existence,

See the purpose behind multiple, different lives, and how each “life” adds to the ever-growing collection of “lifetime experiences” of the Soul. The Spirit passes through everything, and beyond anything including “time”. The Soul, gets progressively more-defined, and more individualistic in its Cosmic Vibration(s). Each and every interation (life) is simply another stage the Soul, and ultimately, the “richness of the Spirit”, grow and become more “God-like”. (We ARE considered to be born in the image of our Creator, aren’t we?)

Being that the Spirit (and its developing Soul-Personality) is transcendant over everything and anything (especially over the physical),

Then would it not make complete sense that the Spirit (and Soul) are not limited to inhabiting one specific, singular physical (or other) form??? The form one takes in a specific life, is purely to allow that Soul to gain the experience that is most common through the experiences in that form. Each particular form (species, especially) experiences different aspects and qualities of life. The world appears differently to them through own eyes, ears, and all other senses that are common and integral with that form. Ever experience the world as an ant, or as a bird, or even as a fish??? Such cases of interesting memories have been recorded during the hypnosis sessions, as told by the many researched human subjects of those sessions. Some have even recalled, through deep hypnosis, astonishing details that were later found to be relevent and actual happenings in a part of history!

This then brings us to the subject of, . . .

“Otherkinism”.

Many of today’s religious “systems” and “churches” (to include most of the “new-age” belief “systems”) turn rather sour on discussions about “otherkin” and “otherkinsim”. (My, how ‘tolerant’ some of these religions claim to be!!!) They believe it is all impossible, and think that folks who follow the line of thinking about otherkinism being real and demonstrable are a bunch of kooks, phonies, and mentally ill. (My, how ‘tolerant’ some of these religions claim to be, again!!!) They may also consider this subject as being purely from the “gamers’ groups” and rpg’ers. Well, the ancient peoples also had different ideas – and considered trans-species Soul incarnations to be quite real. The reason why many practicing Buddhists and Hindus (and many variations and “sects” of the old Vedic Ways) are purely vegetarian (or nowadays, more like “vegan”) cited, is that the animals around them may be the reincarnations of their departed loved ones and family members (especially those who were considered “rewarded” for their pious living in one or more past-lives). They truly believe that killing and eating of any of the animals could possibly end up in their killing off a being with the Soul of their departed. (Sounds a bit like otherkinism reversed, doesn’t it?) So, much of today’s Buddhism and Hinduism centers around a form of “otherkinism”! So what’s the difference towards those who claim to have lived past-lives in non-human form???

In closing this article,

I want to stress the fact that there are some in the world who whole-heartedly believe in otherkinism, and the ability of the Soul to transcend ANY form it feels is necessary from life to life, to gain a fuller experience of its own existence. “Otherkins” may not be very well known, nor may there be very many who have the courage to claim they are non-human Souls (even though, the “Soul” is far more capable than just being “human”). To agree with one of Jafira Dragon’s modes of thinking: “It is not necessarily an easy thing to reconcile with, that one is an otherworldly Soul, or may have existed in a different form in a past life.” There is even an “e-book” on the subject of otherkinism! The first kind of “manual” of its kind, and a very detailed, well-developed piece of writing that continues to evolve as more experiences and personal testimonies come to the surface. It is called “Jafira’s Draconity Guide” (tailored mainly towards those who consider themselves “Dragon-Souls”).

As to also speak of the several well-practiced psychics I knew,

I was said, repeatedly, that I myself am an “ancient Soul” (meaning, I apparently have been around in different incarnations for a very long time). There are probably many who are also “Ancient Souls”, and perhaps some, who do not even remember it yet! Such is the aspect of a Soul; Ageless, timeless, and ever-present in any reality, and every reality. A practicing shaman, often one who tries to incorporate the “old ways” of shamanism, would see this an ineffable truth. The Soul journeys onward and outward, regardless of its present form. The form a Soul takes in its present life, does not necessarily define its state of being (other than through the basis of experiencing life through the eyes of that form). In the simplest way to express it: “The body, does NOT define the Being.

Let’s Set this Story Straight, for Once and for All, Shall We?

Very interesting that a particular story seems to be making very vocal rounds about the news world and the internet:

I am talking about the hunting excursion, in Africa, involving an American dentist, who apparently has some serious money to burn, and is being held up world wide as a heinous villain. I am talking about Mr. Walter Palmer and the hunting-guide outfit that accompanied him to the spot where he shot a Lion named “Cecil”. It is very disturbing that the cacophonous calls of him being a “murderer” and an absolutely horrible human being for his part in the killing of Cecil.

So,

Is this to be another call to eliminate the institution of “hunting”, and ban all sorts of outdoorsmanship of any similarity? – The shrill, emotionally-charged chorus-calls behind such movements and publicized statements just shows the irrationality of the whole issue by various groups of people who have only emotion and fantasy to base their actions on. It just the sort of “touchy-feely” opportunism that overrides commonsense and rational thinking, that begets unrealistic and often totalitarian responses of more regulation and “laws” to further regulate the people’s activities. However, what is really being accomplished here, and to what end?

We all like to see the cute little babies of virtually all animal species, and watch their playful antics. We all enjoy a good story of a beautiful family in the wilds, and the often breath-taking views of the scenery on a bright, sun-lit day somewhere far off in the distance. However, are these same “loving people” also in touch with the darker shades of Nature, and the many horrors that often play out in the most unexpected and heart-wrenching fashion? Do these people truly understand the principles and actions behind the Will of Nature? – Methinks not!

I have personally seen much of BOTH faces of the natural world, being that I also live very near some of the most desolate and most unforgiving environments that Nature has to offer the great Northwest of the United States. I have personally seen the constant struggle for survival of many different species of life, both large and very small, as they live precariously from day to day. Life is very hard, and sometimes – very short for some individuals in the Natural World. There is Life and Death in Nature, and sometimes, either or neither can be very beautiful, or very horrible! Nature just is what it is. Nature can be both merciful, and heart-rendingly merciless in Her dealings with any and all species and individuals.

We, as a supposedly highly-sentient species, should KNOW all of this, even if by merely observing these truths played out in front of us, daily and always. Hunting is the province of the predator species (which includes we humans), and the prey – the subject of the hunt. (I know, I know! We have “grocery stores”! WHO needs to hunt anymore?) – Well, to rely upon an artificiated convenience (like grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.) without truly acknowledging that these conveniences come at great effort, and great cost to continue, do we even realize that these “conveniences”, may one day, no longer be convenient nor accessible due to some unforeseen “disaster” or disruption in the supply chains. If all of our conveniences were to suddenly become “unavailable” and not-so convenient, what happens to those who lack the basic survival skills needed to navigate through those contingencies???

If we are to take a close look at things, rationally, in today’s world, we should begin to realize that Nature had the first recipe for existence AND survival. Nature’s adage: “Survival of the fittest”. This means that these terrible struggles that most of Nature’s (non-human) children go through, are part of the tempering process by which the strongest and most able the species, are the ones who stand the best chance of survival, and go on to produce more of their species. This is an immutable fact of Nature!

Also what’s pertinent in respect to Nature:

Waste not, want not!

We, as a sentient species, should also know that Nature wants to maintain a balance in the natural world. If we are to have plenty of game and such, in which to hunt AND (hopefully) utilize to the fullest, we should be smart about taking ONLY WHAT WE WILL RIGHTLY USE. – I have never been a big fan of “trophy”-hunting, as most of the “trophy-hunters” seem only interested in obtaining something to hang on the walls of their homes as a memento of their “conquering Nature”! What about the other usable parts and pieces of these animals? There are many hungry people in this world (by artificiated design of the globalists) who would be fed by the remains of the carcass of the deceased. What about the parts usable for clothing, as there surely are many who can not afford to procure their own clothing for protection from the elements? AND, what about being grateful for the challenge the animal gave while it was still alive, and grateful for its destiny being placed into your hands? (As like the various ancient peoples did.)

* * *

The only crimes I can conceivably consider for Mr. Palmer AND the hunting-guide outfit who traveled with him:

Mr. Palmer: – Poaching, by means of illegal enticement of an animal from a preserve, for the purposes of killing it outside of that preserve. – And – Waste and Abuse of animal through cruel and unusual treatment and negligence. –> “If you wound it, you had best go after it and finish killing it!

The Hunting Guides: – Accessory to poaching, aiding and abetting poaching, conspiracy to commit and/or allow, and complicity to poaching, aiding and abetting the illegal enticement of a game animals from a preserve, for the purposes of allowing the hunter to kill it outside of that preserve.

The most damning of all:

If Mr. Palmer did indeed allow the animal HE WOUNDED to wander and suffer from his inflicted injuries for over fourty hours, then shame on HIM! – I am from “The Old School” of hunting: “If you shoot it and wound it, YOU go after it and FINISH THE JOB of killing it, so as to put it out of its misery!

There ARE at least some hunters with a rational moral of ethics.

To those who wish to see the total ending of all hunting, period:

– “You are outside the bounds of rationality and reason. Perhaps you do not TRULY understand how cruel Nature can be, and often is, especially when it is Her predators doing the hunting.

Wisconsin Wildlife Ethic-Vote Our Wildlife

“The revulsion about the lion Cecil’s death is an indication of changing times.” — Thom Hartmann

Walter Palmer, Minneapolis area dentist, paid some guides to tie a carcass to their vehicle to bait a protected lion, a beloved mascot for Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. He shined a spotlight on Cecil to shoot him at night, bow-hunting. What is not widely known by non-hunters is that bow-hunting, like trapping and hounding, causes an extremely cruel and torturous death. Palmer and his guides wounded the lion, but he was left to die slowly, killed 40 hours later by rifle. It is common once an animal has been wounded with an arrow to allow him or her to bleed out slowly, to weaken that animal for an easy kill a day or more later. Baiting, killing using lights, killing a father with a pride — this is extremely sick behavior. The Wisconsin…

Group To Unveil Satan Statue In Detroit During ‘Largest Public Satanic Ceremony In History’

(WWJ/AP) Detroit CBS Local,

Baphomet Bronze Statue
Baphomet Bronze Statue

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – A group is planning to unveil an 8-foot-tall bronze statue featuring a goat-headed Satan in Detroit during a gathering that’s being billed as the “largest public satanic ceremony in history.”

The Satanic Temple has said Saturday’s private event will be open only to people with tickets, $25 each. Invitations to “The Unveiling” summoned guests to prepare for “a night of chaos, noise, and debauchery… Come dance with the Devil and experience history in the making.” The event location is not being announced publicly and is known only to those with tickets.

. . . More here . . .

COMMENT FROM THE POSTER:

I really wish I could afford to go and see it!

Rather interesting that Baphomet is supposedly a hermaphroditic God. That is, this statue is missing the feminine characteristics of the mammaries (breasts). So, this appears to be the over-masculinization of Baphomet (IMHO).

Also, rather interesting that some refer to him as “Satan”. This is NOT CORRECT! This is the image of Baphomet as depicted originally by Eliphas Levi. Satan comes across as a composite image from several different (originally) Pagan Gods and images melded together, and given (by the early Catholics and Christians) the various epithets and titles of evil and mendaciousness. This was a tactic by the early imperial churches to malign the Pagans they were busy torturing and forcing into converting to the new religions. Baphomet is pictured as having one hand elevated, and the other lowered: To represent the “As Above, So Below” principle of the known existence(s). Baphomet is more significant with balance, especially between Light and Darkness.

There is very little aspect of “evil” about him/her/it/them that is realistic.

Those who manage to afford the $75.00 / per person admission to go as “VIP Guests”, may get some photos of themselves with the bronze statue of Baphomet. – I would LOVE to hear about your experiences!
